Reiki with the Herd
Individual Equine Reiki
Individual Equine Reiki
Like people, horses can experience stress, grief, fear, discomfort, exhaustion, and the effects of significant change.
Reiki may be considered during recovery from illness, injury, or a veterinary procedure; adjustment to a new barn or herd; travel or competition; grief following the loss of a companion; or end-of-life care.
Reiki offers quiet, non-invasive, whole-animal support intended to encourage relaxation, comfort, emotional ease, energetic balance, and the body's natural restorative processes.
Within the herd, each horse remains free to choose whether to participate, how close to come, and when to move away.

Individual Equine Reiki
An individual Reiki session offers one horse quiet, focused attention in familiar surroundings. It may be especially supportive for a horse that appears anxious, guarded, physically uncomfortable, emotionally overwhelmed, or unsettled by significant change.
The horse guides the pace, distance, and level of contact throughout the session. Reiki may be offered through gentle touch, with my hands just above the body, or from a short distance. I carefully observe the horse's body language and always respect its choice to move closer, step away, rest, or return.
Distance Reiki
Individual Equine Reiki
Distance Reiki
Distance Reiki allows a horse to receive gentle, focused support without requiring an in-person visit or someone unfamiliar to enter its space.
It may be especially appropriate when a horse is hospitalized, recovering from a procedure, traveling, quarantined, located far away, sensitive to unfamiliar people or touch, or more comfortable remaining undisturbed. The horse does not need to stand still or respond in any particular way.
Reiki is offered remotely wherever the horse may be, with focused care and respect for the horse's individual needs and comfort.

A Blessing to Our Horses
Shawn has been such a blessing to the horses at BEATS! Our equine partners provide therapy and adaptive riding lessons for our clients. It takes a special horse to provide these services, so we do everything we can to support them physically and mentally. Shawn has been coming out to work with them for the past two years. We have horses from 13h-17.1, 4 years old to 30+ and all different breeds. She is always attentive to who needs what and tailors every session to meet the needs of each horse individually. She reports her findings to us so that we are all on the same page with how our horses are feeling. We could not be more grateful to have Shawn as part of our team!
